Maintenance and Services – MOT – Mobile Car Repair
Mobile Vehicle Services can service your vehicle without invalidating your vehicle’s manufacturer’s warranty thanks to a European Union legislation that came in to force in October 2003. The legislation is called the “Block Exemption Regulations 1400/2002”. It states that:
Independent repairers CAN carry out normal maintenance and repair services during a vehicle’s warranty period without invalidating the VA’s warranty conditions. With two provisos:
- That the service is in accordance with the vehicle assemblers (manufactors) servicing schedules and recorded as such.
- That the parts used are of “appropriate quality” and are recorded as such.
This means that customers are no longer required to have a main dealer service during their warranty period and are now free to enjoy the competitive prices offered by Mobile Vehicle Services.
Servicing

1. Oil Service
- Check lights
- Change oil and filter
- Top up screen wash and coolant
- Report faults
- Reset service lights
2. Annual/Intermediate – recommended every 6,000 miles
As Oil service as well as:
- Check all electrical systems e.g.: lights, horn, wipers etc
- Visual interior check e.g.: seat belts
- Visual brake check
- Visual Suspension check
- Adjust handbrake if necessary
- Visual tyre check
- Check fluid levels – Power Assisted Steering, screen wash, coolant, brake fluid
- Check coolant system
- Check general engine condition
- Lubricate all hinges
- Report all faults found
- Reset service light
3. Full Service - recommended every 12,000 miles
As Annual service as well as:
- Check wiper blades
- Check and clean brake linings and drums
- Check exhaust
- Check tyre pressures and condition
- Test antifreeze
- Check auxiliary belts
- Replace spark plugs
- Inspect ignition system
- Replace fuel, air and pollen filters
4. Major Service - recommended every 24,000 miles
As Full service as well as:
- Coolant change
- Gearbox and differential oil change
- Brake fluid change (if due, every 2 years)
- Starter motor and alternator operation check.
Timing Belt/Cam belt
Cam belt replacement is a vital requirement
for most vehicles. Without replacement, wear and tear can cause the
belt to snap causing almost certain serious damage to your engine.
Replacement is carried out based on mileage and age of the vehicle. As
the majority of cam belt failures are due to the tensioners and idlers
that hold the cam belt in place failing, Mobile Vehicle Services will always replace these
at the same time.
Diagnostic Testing
Today’s modern vehicles have
complex computer systems requiring specialist diagnostic equipment. At
Mobile Vehicle Services we have a range of diagnostic equipment which can be used to
diagnose any faults your vehicle maybe experiencing.
Air Conditioning
Mobile Vehicle Services is able to service, repair and re-gas
your vehicle’s air-conditioning at a time and location
convenient to you. We use Oxygen Free Nitrogen to pressure test and
prove your system is free from leaks ensuring your air conditioning is
in tip top condition. Your air conditioning system also contains a
drier which removes moisture from the refrigerant before it enters the
system. It is recommended that this is replaced every two years.
MOT's
Whilst
Mobile Vehicle Services cannot carryout your MOT, we can arrange your MOT and collect and
return your vehicle.
Brakes
Mobile Vehicle Services
is able to service and repair your braking system, from minor adjusting
to diagnosing ABS faults. Your braking system has a hydraulic fluid
that should be changed every 2 years.
